Portrait of Charles Dudley Warner Charles Dudley Warner,  My Winter on the Nile

“ But I think that Rameses II., who was the handsomest and most conceited swell of them all, was not so particular about doing the deeds as he was about recording them. He could not have done much else in his long reign than erect the temples, carve the hieroglyphics, and set up the statues of himself, which proclaim his fame. ”
