It is he whom you have known for the last ten years defending the principles of faith and humanity and defending the principles of his glorious Arab nation. ”

“ To avoid losing a section of the people who are with us now or who may be with us in the future is vital in the treatment of any legal or social issue or any other matter in general. We want to see society united rather than divided, but when we say 'rather than divided' we do not mean to take a Utopian view and ignore the contradictions, which must exist within the strata of society and in life itself. Nor do we mean to halt the march of the Revolution for the sake of avoiding some losses, which are objectively and scientifically necessary for its forward march. ”

“ What is new and more significant is not the thought of the revolution as a starting-point of change, nor its objectives of unity, freedom and socialism, but its seriousness and honesty: the Revolution has risen from a people known historically of its deep seriousness, a people that has always exceeded what is conventional and common of thoughts, programmes and attempts, and has always aspired after what is more supreme, more developed, greater, deeper and more comprehensive. ”

“ I think that any wise and objective person, even if his nationalist belief has not been completely matured, will choose his nation and its united state. “ From the above and from the qualitative level of the sublime morals warehoused in Baghdad and the capability of being insightful on certain, familiar conditions, we can expound how the sun had not shone on the people of Baghdad and others during the reign of the State run by the Ottomans in the name of Islam when Baghdad faded and how now light shines on the foreheads of many sons of the Islamic community and all Arab sons, people of the sword, pen, banner and great principles when the rays of light are beamed from Baghdad, the city of great history and glory. ”

“ The participation of women in some armies in the world is in reality only symbolic. The talk about the role of Zionist women in fighting with the combat units of the enemy in the war of 5 June 1967 was intended more as propaganda than anything real or substantial. I t was calculated to intensify and compound the adverse psychological effects of the war by exploiting the backward outlook of large sections of Arab society toward women and their role in the community .The intention was to achieve adverse psychological effects by saying to the Arabs that they were defeated, in June 1967, by women. ”

An enlightened mother who is educated and liberated can give the country a generation of conscious and committed fighters. What a crime it would be against the younger generation if women were deprived of their rights to freedom, education and full participation in the life of the community! ”

“ From these significant examples and meanings you can understand how an Iraqi loved his nation and loved Iraq, how he forbore, fought and held his ground, how he built towering buildings, how and why he plants trees and flowers even while the blazing flames of fire were and still are scorching his face in the continuous aggression of the evildoers and the injustice of their followers, how and why he sows the seeds of life and smiles to them and how and why he builds and elevates the building after removing the debris of destruction. ”

“ I realize the sensitivity of some Arab rulers in our Nation to telling the truth or listening to a different opinion as regards matters of destiny and national influence which stretches beyond a limited place into the great Arab homeland, beyond certain people into the glorious Arab Nation and transcends the short present time, fast into the another present which extends into a long time and even into a future whose range of influence may not be wholly conceived. ”

“ I repeat and say that the tasks lying ahead of the General Federation of Iraqi Women include the building up of a strong, coherent family as a living cell in the body of our society. This, however, should be set against the responsibilities of the struggle is shouldered by women in every phase of our society's development. If everything we struggle for or seek as essential for our struggle can be easily obtained, it will not be possible to call ourselves 'strugglers'. The present generation of the Soviet Union may not be called a generation of strugglers. ”

“ Therefore, Arab socialism and its practical implications concerning the policy of using public wealth and social interdependence and solidarity, is imperative not only for the aforementioned reasons and other reasons that we will mention later on, but rather in order to maintain the unity too. Hence, socialism is a means not only to create a new life in which love amongst the sons of the nation prevails, but a defensive means that makes the wall of unity a high wall which has no holes that could be used against it by its external and internal enemies. ”

Peace be upon you and for you, the masses in the Arabic streets, houses and families.
Peace be upon every student, intellectual, solider, farmer, worker, women and men, youths and children. Peace be upon you and for, and upon the people of Iraq, both men and glorious women, the comrades of Saddam Hussein in the leadership, your brother and the son of your people and Nation: Saddam Hussein who is infected with the disease of your love: the disease without which any official in his nation will be sick. ”

“ Unless the Nation is in a good condition, it is arduous for any of its countries alone to be so, and it is equally hard for itself to be a good example for others to follow who will find it difficult to accept any effective role it might play amidst them or even to be conceived as a model for a better life.
Iraq has evidenced that it is capable of acting as though it were a nation by itself when it summons the spirit and morals of the glorious Arab Nation, of shouldering the responsibility of bearing the message and of reviving the Nation's role on the national and human levels. ”

“ After this and for a thousand or thousands of years to come, can fear find its way to the heart of any Arab in a position of responsibility unless he is a fear-ridden coward or hopelessly unpatriotic and lacking the virtue of faith in his soul? Can anyone who is faithful and zealous for his people and nation be excused when he does not rise against the injustice of the foreigner and the injustice of the unjust, and does not force and help himself to get rid of the weakness inside his soul? ”

“ The wide vistas and the safe haven of the money of the Gulf are in the Arab homeland, their big tent which is of strong texture, high pillars and firm wedges striking deep in the soil, the tent erected by the nationalist, conscious and solid will in order that it may protect all the big, medium and small tents in the Arab homeland above which flutters the flag of unity over all national and local banners. ”

“ We are not afraid, but we must make calculations. We are not afraid, but we must not be arrogant. We fear nobody, but we have to be watchful lest we should lose a section of our people.
The question of modifying the position of the woman in our society within the correct and all other frameworks is a matter, which allows no hesitation. It is a matter, which we shall pursue in harmony with the development of society, the increase of its capacity for understanding and the continuity of its forward movement within the framework of the Revolutionary principles. ”

“ Our prospective has never changed whether the Arab masses have acted in accordance with the level of their role in this or that cause or otherwise when their action or influence are below the level of their real capabilities. Indeed, we more adhere to our role and to our national and moral responsibility towards the Nation and its masses when they are weak; and conversely feel happy and rejoice when they promote their awareness and principles to a higher level. Truly, our moral and principled commitment has never changed nor has our hope retreated from its orbit. ”

“ And as the Mongols and Tatars had burned books of science and knowledge, murdered the scientists in Baghdad and wasted the Nation's opportunity for a long time, some of the backward too pushed by their destructive force and backsided by their evil intents have thought that they are capable of killing men of knowledge and tokens of pen, wisdom, sword and banner in Baghdad, which is rising higher and for the better. Hopeless indeed will be their presumptions, and surely evil are the things they have been doing. ”

“ Those who wore shoes were the exemption, while diseases, abandoning the role, the contradiction between the ancient past and the then crippled and backward present, had undermined the people's zeal and determination. Baghdad, with all that it bears of the glorious history of the Nation and a great cultural role, was almost a large abandoned village, in terms of formation and services, rather than a city of these historical meanings, living in the 20th century. The State's treasury was empty and those who had jobs were few. Backwardness and inactive attitude on life were devastating the brains. ”

“ I will say that the Arab nation is our nation. We belong to it and it belongs to us. It is our pride and our strength. It is our depth and Iraq is its depth. In its name was our call of chivalry, and in the name of its great ideals, our great ideals and its principles, we assaulted falsehood and knocked out its brain and caused it to perish. It is the nation of prophets, of martyrs and of holy men, it is our nation. ”
