He was at the beginning and He will be at the end, being the first and the last. He will come into the world to redeem His people and to take upon Himself their transgressions.
And He will only grant salvation and eternal life to those who believe in Him. The wicked will remain as if no redemption were made, but they will still be resurrected to an immortal body. ”

“ Do not touch the sealed plates, for I will bring them to the world in my own due time. I will show all people that I am able to do my own work.
After you have translated the words that I have commanded you, and after you have shown the plates to the witnesses I promised you, hide the plates up to me again so that I may preserve the sealed words that you have not read.
For behold, I am a God of miracles. I will show the world that I am the same yesterday, today and forever, and that I work among people according to their faith. ”

“ So many people do not want the Lord their God, their Creator, to rule and reign over them. Even though He extends His great goodness and mercy to them, they consider His counsel to be worthless, and they will not let Him be their guide.
Oh how great is the nothingness of people, who are less obedient than the dust of the earth. For the dust moves when the everlasting God commands it. At His voice the hills and mountains tremble and quake. By the power of His voice they are broken up and become a smooth valley. By the power of His voice the whole earth shakes, even to the center. ”

“ So many will be destroyed, that a man will be as scarce as fine gold. In my fierce anger, I, the Lord of Hosts, will shake the heavens, and the earth will be moved out of her orbit. Then, like a hunted deer or wandering lamb, every man will return to his own people, running back to his homeland. All the proud and the wicked will die by the sword. ”

“ Oh Lord, will Thou give me strength to patiently suffer the afflictions that will come upon me, because of the iniquity of this people? Oh Lord, will Thou comfort my soul and give me success, and also my fellow laborers who are with me, Ammon, Aaron, and Omner, Amulek, Zeezrom and my two sons? Oh Lord, comfort their souls in Christ. Will Thou also give them the strength to bear the afflictions that will come upon them because of the iniquity of this people? Oh Lord, will Thou give us success in bringing them back to Thee in Christ? Their souls are precious, and many of them are our brethren. ”

“ The Lord says, “All the proud who do wickedly will be burned. Those who kill the prophets and saints will be swallowed up by the earth and mountains will cover them. Tornadoes will carry them away, and earthquakes will cause buildings to crush them, grinding them to powder. They will be visited with thunder, lightning, earthquakes and all types of destruction, for the Lord’s angry fire will burn them like kindling.” Oh the pain and anguish of my soul for the loss of my people that will perish! For I, Nephi, have seen their destruction, which almost consumes me before the Lord's presence. ”

“ If my son turned back to his pride and vanity, recalling what he had said, and claimed his right to the kingdom, then he and all this people would commit many sins. Let us look ahead and do what will keep the peace of this people.
I will be your king the rest of my life, but let us now appoint judges to take my place when I die, to judge this people according to our law. Together we will create a new way to govern, appointing wise men to judge this people according to God's commandments.
Isn't it better to allow God, rather than men, to rule over and judge us? ”

“ But I, Moroni, said to Him, "Lord, the Gentiles will mock at our poor writing, for Thou has made our people powerful speakers, because of our faith and the Holy Ghost that Thou has given to us. But Thou has not made our writing powerful.
Thou has limited our writing skills because our hands are awkward. Thou has not made us powerful writers, like Jared's brother, to whom Thou gave the gift of writing things as mighty as Thou art--even to the overpowering of those who read them. Thou has made our words powerful, but we cannot express them in writing. ”

“ Then a second death comes to those who die in their sins--a spiritual death, for they will become dead to righteousness.
At that time, their torment will be like a lake of burning sulfur with flames that go up forever. They will be chained down to an everlasting destruction according to Satan's power of captivity.
They will be as if no redemption had ever been made, for they will not be worthy to be redeemed according to God's justice. And in this awful state, they cannot die, for all will live forever."
When Alma finished speaking, the people were even more astonished. ”

“ But there will be a redemption and a resurrection! The grave will not have the final victory because Christ will come. He is the light and life of the world, putting an end to darkness and death forever.
Because of Christ, all mortals will be resurrected and then brought to stand before the bar of God, to be judged by Him according to their good or evil works. If their works were good, they will be resurrected to endless life and happiness. If their works were evil, they will be resurrected to endless damnation, which is to become one of the devil's subjects. ”

“ When Amulek saw the pains of the women and children burning in the fire, he was pained, and said to Alma, "How can we witness this awful scene? Let us hold out our hands and exercise God's power in us to save them."
Alma replied, "The Spirit stops me from holding out my hand. For the Lord receives them up unto Himself in glory. He allows the wicked to murder according to the hardness of their hearts so that His judgments and anger upon them will be just. For the blood of the innocent will stand as a witness, and cry mightily against them at the last day." ”

“ May I no longer be weak to temptations, but be made strong with a broken heart and contrite spirit! Oh Lord, do not shut the gates of Thy righteousness to me, but let me walk humbly before Thee according to Thy strict principles. Oh Lord, encircle me with the robe of Thy righteousness. Help me escape my enemies. Help me not stumble, and slow my enemy in his pursuit of my soul. Oh Lord, I have trusted in Thee, and I will trust in Thee forever. I will not put my trust in the ways of man, because those who do that are cursed. ”

“ I, Pahoran, also do not seek for power. I desire to regain my judgment-seat to preserve the rights and liberty of my people. My soul stands fast in that liberty with which God has made us free. We will resist wickedness even if we must shed blood. We would not kill the Lamanites if they would stay in their own land, nor would we kill our own brethren if they would not rise up in rebellion against us with swords. ”

“ You will know at the last day, when we are all judged by our works, that after I preached the gospel of Christ to you, the God of Israel witnessed that I shook your sins from my soul. Then I will stand before Him, resurrected with brightness, and will not be responsible for your sins.
Turn from your sins. Shake off the chains of the devil, who wishes to bind you down. Come to that God who is the rock of your salvation. Prepare your souls for that glorious day--the day of judgment--when justice will be administered to the righteous. ”

“ The queen answered, "I have only your word and the word of our servants, but I do believe my husband will rise as you said."
Ammon replied, "You are blessed because of your great faith--a faith never known among all the Nephites."
The queen sat by her husband all night. In the morning the king awoke, and holding out his hand to the queen, he said, "Blessed is the name of God, and you are blessed too, for as surely as you live, I have seen my Redeemer. He will be born of a mortal woman and will redeem all who will believe in Him." ”

“ For the Lord says, I, the Lord, am He who will comfort you, oh house of Israel.
Now why should you be afraid of men, who will wither as the summer grass? And how can you forget the Lord, who created you, the heavens and the earth? How can you fear even a furious oppressor, as if he could destroy you? ”

“ Korihor answered, "Yes, I will deny these things, unless you show me a sign."
Then Alma said, "I am sorry your heart is so hard. You will resist the spirit of the truth until your soul is destroyed. But it is better for your soul to be lost than for you to bring many souls down to destruction by your lying and flattering words.
So if you deny God again, He will strike you so that you will not be able to speak again to deceive this people." ”
