Delegates to the Constitutional Convention of Idaho Constitution of the State of Idaho (1889)

The right of eminent domain shall never be abridged, nor so construed as to prevent the legislature from taking the property and franchises of incorporated companies, and subjecting them to public use, the same as the property of individuals; and the police powers of the State shall never be abridged, or so construed as to permit corporations to conduct their business in such manner as to infringe the equal rights of individuals, or the general well being of the State.

The power to tax corporations or corporate property, both real and personal, shall never be relinquished or suspended, and all corporations in this State or doing business therein, shall be subject to taxation for State, county, school, municipal, and other purposes, on real and personal property owned or used by them, and not by this Constitution exempted from taxation within the Territorial limits of the authority levying the tax.
