Ferdinand Marcos,
Twelfth State of the Nation Address
“ Abroad, we were looked upon as another nation lost to the forces of social disintegration and revolution. But the nation has survived and endured. And we are a society today whose hopes are raised not just towards meeting the crisis of the hour, but to the challenges of the rest of the decade and beyond. Regardless of the many uncertainties that international life hold out today to many nations, we approach with confidence the many problems that confront us, and we know our national prospects to be better than they have ever been in the past. ”
