“ Forsoþe þe techeresse it is of þe discipline of God, and þe cheseresse of þe werkis of hym. And if richesses ben desirid in þe lif, what richere þan wisdam, þat wercheþ alle þingis? If forsoþe wit wercheþ, who of þese þat ben, more is crafti man þan it? And if riȝtwisnesse a man looueþ, þe trauailes of þis han grete vertues; sobrenesse forsoþe and prudence it techeþ, and riȝtwisnesse, and vertue; þan þe whiche more profitable no þing is in lif to men. And if multitude of kunnyng desireþ a man, it knowiþ þe passid þingus, and of þe to comen it eymeþ ”
