“ Synaptic vesicles (SVs) are the specialized organelles that store and secrete non-peptide neurotransmitters at synapses. Following exocytosis, their membranes are rapidly recaptured by endocytosis and recycled for the generation of new fusion-competent SVs ( [1] ; [2] ; [3] ) . Strong evidence indicates that clathrin-mediated endocytosis (CME) plays a key role in this endocytic traffic ( [2] ; [4] ; [5] ; [6] ; [7] ; [8] ) .
