Oneness of God

“ It is a union in Jesus Christ. We are one in a sense of our lost condition, and one in self-abandonment. Oh! blessed oneness with Christ, where all evils perish; and there remains only the casualties inseparable from the state of humanity. How wonderful is this operation—the sacred mingling of a poor creature with its God, where all the evils of our fallen nature, are removed from the depths of the soul, and the soul, in its elemental being is lost in its original! ”

“ Who is there, O my God, that can be deemed worthy to be remembered when Thou art remembered, and where is he to be found who can be regarded as capable of hinting at Thy nature or worthy of mention in the court of Thy transcendent oneness? From everlasting Thou hast been alone with no one else beside Thee, and to everlasting Thou wilt continue to be one and the same. No God is there beside Thee, the God of power, of glory and wisdom. ”

LVII: “God testifieth to the unity of His Godhood and to...” God testifieth to the unity of His Godhood and to the singleness of His own Being. On the throne of eternity, from the inaccessible heights of His station, His tongue proclaimeth that there is none other God but Him. He Himself, independently of all else, hath ever been a witness unto His own oneness, the revealer of His own nature, the glorifier of His own essence. ”

Jesus of Nazareth taught and demonstrated this oneness with the Father, and for this we owe him endless homage. His mission was both individual and collective. He did Life's work aright, not only in justice to himself, but in mercy to mortals, — to show them how to do theirs, but not to do it for them, or relieve them of a single responsibility. ”

"God is one;" one conscious, intelligent being and voluntary agent. If I am conscious, that I am a single intellectual being, and necessarily regard every other man as such ”

“ No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon. — Matthew 6 : 24.
The infinite is one, and this one is Spirit; Spirit is God, and this God is infinite good.
This simple statement of oneness is the only possible correct version of Christian Science. ”

“ The Holy Spirit links the other part--the tiny, mad desire to be separate, different and special--to the Christ, to make the oneness clear to what is really one. In this world this is not understood, but can be taught. ”

“ His purpose is this, that we, all of us, should strive with our whole hearts to offer ourselves up, guide others to His path, and train the souls of men—until these frenzied beasts change to gazelles in the meadows of oneness, and these wolves to lambs of God, and these brutish creatures to angelic hosts; till the fires of hatred are quenched, and the flame coming out of the sheltered vale of the Holy Shrine doth shed its splendours; till the foul odour of the tyrant’s dunghill is blown away, and yieldeth to the pure, sweet scents that stream from the rosebeds of faith and trust. ”

“ God unites us with Himself in eternal love, which is Himself. "In this embrace and essential unity with God all devout and inward spirits are one with God by living immersion and melting away into Him; they are by grace one and the same thing with Him, because the same essence is in both." "For what we are, that we intently contemplate; and what we contemplate, that we are; for our mind, our life, and our essence are simply lifted up and united to the very truth, which is God. Wherefore in this simple and intent contemplation we are one life and one spirit with God. ”
