“ To trim our liturgy is like trimming living flesh; wherever you cut, the blood oozes. The four cubits of the Halacha—that is what is wanted, not changes in the liturgy. Once touch anything, and where are you to stop? Our religion becomes a flux. Our old Judaism is like an old family mansion, where each generation has left a memorial and where every room is hallowed with traditions of merrymaking and mourning. We do not want our fathers' home decorated in the latest style; the next step will be removal to a new dwelling altogether. On page 3 you refer to the second Isaiah. ”

Ari Enkin,  Translation:Shulchan Aruch/Yoreh Deah…

“ Only if cut with a knife will you have to go back and re-wash, because through the pressure of a knife, blood is brought up to the surface. However, according to the Ran who holds the reason for the washing is to soften the meat, it would make no difference how many cuts are made, and re-washing would not be required. However, halacha follows the opinion that the rinsing is due to blood, therefore re-washing will be required even post facto. ”

The teachers of the Law permitted the Jews to deliver up fuel which the Magi demanded of them on the occasion of the Festival of Light, and ceased to consider this act as a furtherance of idolatry, though it would certainly have been regarded as such by526 the old Halacha in similar cases. ”
