Assistive Technology Act of 1998…

“ IN GENERAL— The State shall develop and promote the adoption of policies that improve access to assistive technology devices and assistive technology services for individuals with disabilities of all ages in the State and that result in improved coordination among public and private entities that are responsible or have the authority to be responsible, for policies, procedures, or funding for, or the provision of assistive technology devices and assistive technology services to, such individuals. ”

In entering into the contracts, the Secretary may give preference to businesses owned or operated by individuals with disabilities. ”
