Florence Earle Coates,
Lyrics of Life
(1909)
“ We should provide some kind of World Wide Web-based interface to HTML versions of our works, so that users are able to display those works in a popular application called a Web browser. As I understand it, all modern Web browsers offer their users complete control over the key points of layout, such as font size and page width. Apparently it is trivial to change these things in your Web browser, and the Web browser will respond by laying out the text in accordance with your settings, wrapping lines at just the right places, and even justifying the text for you if you want! ”
