Immigration officer

Definition and stakes

Antonio Joseph Mendez,  CIA Goes Hollywood: A Classic Case of Deception (1999)

“ Immigration controls were straightforward, and the disembarkation/embarkation form was still being used. The difference I noted this time from my previous experience with Mehrabad immigration authorities was that the officer was a professional in uniform instead of an untrained civilian irregular. The immigration officers had gone into hiding at the beginning of the revolution. It appeared that they had now come back to work.
At entry, unlike my last visit, customs and security personnel were not overly concerned about foreigners.
