I.e If you have 2 opening P tags and only 1 close, then you have made a mistake, and browsers using strict evaluation and parsing of HTML will complain, or not render the markup correctly. The same is true for SPAN an DIV tags... Like brackets and braces in template code they have to be balanced. Is this viable on Wikisource? From reading around, dynamic layouts seem closest...is this correct, or are there better ways? ”

“ Without keeping that basic mapping/formating found in the OCR'd file all the way to Page: creation, the idea of a "built-in" effective spell-checker is pretty much impossible to achieve. I wouldn't worry about anything like that materializing anytime soon. I can't say I see the logic of correcting (the spelling in) the dumped text file over correcting the actual embedded text layer of the DjVu but if that approach is working for you on your end - more power to you. ”

Its more a workaround for stupid File: wiki-markup that restores the possible HTML behaviour expected when "inherit-tree" is properly setup and defined thru .CSS in the "real" world. Note that the IMG is wrapped in a Paragraph tag instead of DIV to make shortest block->inline / parent<-child chain. This way inherit has better chance to work under annoying wiki mark-up. Add back |link=$ and wiki mark-up breaks chain like always. Real pain in the ass.Same "bug" exists through-out most anything that is wiki mark-up compared to outside wikifoundation. ”

“ Hi. Not sure I follow. The intended uses is something like {{Text glypth|♈︎}} i.e. you would paste in the symbol (emojii or text either works) . If you try to enter the xml or unicode codes it will not work (although I guess support for that could be added through a different parameter) . While alt text would be great having that generated automatically would require a huge lookup table which risks making the template fairly heavy. Since it's text it wouldn't be a proper alt text though (only works for images as far as I know) , rather it would have to be displayed as a tooltip. ”
