“ Any other provider of interstate telecommunications may be required to contribute to the preservation and advancement of universal service if the public interest so requires. `` (e) Universal Service Support.—After the date on which Commission regulations implementing this section take effect, only an eligible telecommunications carrier designated under section 214 (e) shall be eligible to receive specific Federal universal service support. ”

“ Assistance to Law Enforcement Agencies. Nothing in this Act shall impose any additional technical obligation or requirement on a provider of a wire or electronic communication service or other person to furnish facilities or technical assistance. A provider of a wire or electronic communication service, landlord, custodian, or other person who furnishes facilities or technical assistance pursuant to section 216 shall be reasonably compensated for such reasonable expenditures incurred in providing such facilities or assistance. ”

“ Promote care coordination between providers of services and suppliers that transition health care providers away from fee-for-service based reimbursement and toward salary-based payment. ` (v) Supporting care coordination for chronically-ill applicable individuals at high risk of hospitalization through a health information technology-enabled provider network that includes care coordinators, a chronic disease registry, and home tele-health technology. ”

“ Even this definition of common carriage cannot be readily applied to vendors of enhanced services. Inherent in the offering of enhanced services is the ability of service providers to custom tailor their offerings to the particularized needs of their individual customers. Thus, such services can vary from customer to customer as "individualized decisions" are made as to how best to accommodate the processing needs of their various subscribers. ”

“ In order to carry out the principles of the National Performance Review, the Federal Government must be customer-driven. The standard of quality for services provided to the public shall be: Customer service equal to the best in business. For the purposes of this order, ‘‘customer’’ shall mean an individual or entity who is directly served by a department or agency. ‘‘Best in business’’ shall mean the highest quality of service delivered to customers by private organizations providing a comparable or analogous service. ”

“ The character of the service, in its relation to the public, determines whether the calling is a public one, and a common carrier does not cease to be such merely because in rendering service to the public it acts as the agent of another. ”

“ The term is inclusive of “managed” products or services, in which the provider is responsible for some aspects of system configuration or maintenance, and “unmanaged” products or services, in which the provider is only responsible for ensuring that the product is available to the consumer. ”

“ In many cases, we are able to acquire certain issues through our network of agents that quickly command premiums, and these savings alone, which we pass on to our customers, pay the slight charge for subscribing to our new issue service. ”

“ Such best practices include increasingly popular lower-cost, self-service options accessed by the Internet or mobile phone and improved processes that deliver services faster and more responsively, reducing the overall need for customer inquiries and complaints. The Federal Government has a responsibility to streamline and make more efficient its service delivery to better serve the public.
Sec. 2. Agency Customer Service Plans and Activities. ”

“ The upshot of all this is, that as soon as we assume the performance of a certain service to be necessary for the public convenience, and that those who undertake that service are in duty to the public bound not to cause or to permit that service to be interrupted, we must admit at the same time that the public becomes in duty bound to afford them a corresponding measure of protection in the performance of that service. ”

“ The term `requirements owner' means a member of the armed forces (other than the Coast Guard) or a civilian employee of the Department of Defense responsible for a requirement for a service to be performed through a services contract. " (3) The term `Services Requirements Review Board' has the meaning given in Department of Defense Instruction 5000.74, titled `Defense Acquisition of Services' and dated January 5, 2016, or a successor instruction." ”

“ Indeed, customer service is emerging as a key competitive advantage today, not only in the domestic marketplace, but also in the expanding international arena.
In many industries, service is the product. The service sector accounts for 60 percent of our gross national product and provides some 70 percent of American jobs. Communications, transportation, utilities, banking, accounting, health care, and home maintenance are but a few examples of service industries indispensable to our way of life. ”

“ In defining the difference between basic and enhanced services, we have concluded that basic transmission services are traditional common carrier communications services and that enhanced services are not. Thus, while those who provide basic services would continue to be regulated, enhanced service vendors would not be subject to rate and service provisions of Title II of the Communications Act. ”

“ It is why I issued an Executive Order that directed all executive departments and agencies of the Federal Government to embark upon a revolution to change the way they do business and establish and implement customer service standards that match or exceed the best in the private sector. And it is why our policies continue to emphasize the paramount importance of service excellence to the success of our Nation, our economy, and our efforts to compete in the global marketplace. ”

“ A telecommunications carrier providing service under this paragraph shall be entitled to have an amount equal to the difference, if any, between the rates for services provided to health care providers for rural areas in a State and the rates for similar services provided to other customers in comparable rural areas in that State treated as a service obligation as a part of its obligation to participate in the mechanisms to preserve and advance universal service. ”

“ You will, however, in general avail yourself of the services of any Persons, whether Fugitives from Labor or not, who may offer them to the National Government; you will employ such Persons in such services as they may be fitted for, either as ordinary employees, or, if special circumstances seem to require it, in any other capacity with such organization, in squads, companies, or otherwise, as you deem most beneficial to the service. ”

“ There is no such record in the country for continuous service with one company, which during the whole period has been controlled by one family. This service of more than half a century has been in every way satisfactory. ”

“ Each agency shall designate an official who shall be responsible for facilitating a Federal employee's or member's availability for service of process, regardless of the location of the employee's workplace or member's duty station. ”

“ With such daily reports placed in their hands, persons responsible to the managements for proper maintenance of sleeping and dining car service are enabled to know precisely the kind of service that is being given patrons, which information enables them to keep such service to the highest standard of efficiency. ”

“ More thought and hypotheses with operational methods that break through or expand current service doctrines are needed from a joint perspective even as services look to the future from their own service perspective. ”

“ IN GENERAL.— Except as provided in subsection (b) , an application submitted to the Corporation under section 130 shall include an assurance by the applicant that any national service program carried out using assistance provided under section 121 and any approved national service position provided to an applicant will not be used to perform service that provides a direct benefit to any— `` (1) business organized for profit; `` (2) labor union; `` (3) partisan political organization ”

“ All nature of services may be the subject of the service contract." It would seem, therefore, that the contract may be specifically enforced. So, in France, by the law of 1890, "A person can only bind himself to give his services for a certain time or a special enterprise. ”

“ I am satisfied that both in and out of the classified service great benefit would accrue from the adoption of some system by which the officer would receive the distinction and benefit that in all private employments comes from exceptional faithfulness and efficiency in the performance of duty. ”

“ See para. 107 supra. Such proceedings also could consume a very significant proportion of the resources of this agency. The requirement to devote significant resources to try to make individual service distinctions would necessarily reduce the resources available

“ Service.
ARTICLE 31. The Service shall enjoy a juridical personality legally represented
by the Director General of the INIS, or the acting Director General, or other
Service member authorized by the Director General.
ARTICLE 32. The Service may contract with other persons and institutions to
perform tasks related to the authorized functions of the Service, in accordance
with appropriate security standards established by the Director General.
CHAPTER TEN --COORDINATION WITH GOVERNMENT ENTITIES
ARTICLE 33. ”

“ The Administrator of General Services shall provide and maintain a common Federal acquisition approach that allows for the efficient centralized purchasing of equipment and services that meet NS/EP communications requirements. ”

“ Corps program that involves participants who provide services in a community by developing and assisting in carrying out technology programs that seek to increase access to technology and the benefits of technology in such community; and `` (xi) carrying out other activities, addressing unmet needs relating to economic opportunity for economically disadvantaged individuals, that the Corporation may designate. ”

“ The Essential Services Corps, although legally an entity, is split for administrative and practical purposes into four autonomous Services: the Units of the Essential Services Corps proper, the Civil Aid Services, the Auxiliary Fire Service and the Auxiliary Medical Service. ”

“ There appears to be a general consensus that a regulatory structure distinguishing between basic and enhanced services is appropriate, However, concern is expressed that in establishing the three categories of service--voice, BNV, and ENV--an artificial distinction is being made between voice and non-voice services. ”
