Various,  Popular Science Monthly (1887)

“ My idea was that if you focus on the accuracy of the text, then I would focus on the templates and layout format because all templates and the text formatting procedures are automated at my end.
Also, the process of cleaning up pages, moving the title to the header, and correcting the hyphenated word start and ends, (which is now done by User:Mpaa) , is not an automated process and is quite time consuming. I feel that it's a demand on Mpaa's time to because he also deals with a lot of other maintenance tasks.

Text formatting when proofreading Hi. Regarding your search for the missing proofreading script, I assume that it was to wrap the lines. If that's your concern, there is really no need wrap the lines during proofreading. Joining hyphenated words is sufficient to qualify due to the nature of HTML. Jim Tinsley,  The Project Gutenberg FAQ 2002

“ The most significant "defensive formatting" practices are indenting unwrappable text like quotations, and using underscores rather than CAPITALS for italics. Different volunteers have different priorities: at one extreme, some people want to make the best plain text they can, giving no weight to conversion issues; at the other, some people emphasize the cues that will allow automatic reformatters to convert the texts well, even if that causes some ugliness in the plain text. Most of us operate somewhere between, making the choices we feel are best depending on the context. ”
