It's been uploaded as a copy/paste from an unknown source directly into the mainspace. If you're interested in it there's a copy on Internet Archive that we can upload to Commons and then create the Index: page. We would replace the unsourced work with the new pages.The best place to look for complete works is Category:Index Validated. Many of the works in Category:Index Proofread are complete and are waiting for a second pair of eyes. ”

“ The scans of the images at the Hathi Trust are terrible, with chromatic interference patterning that destroys the image. Wherever someone can find clean images, please use that. The original source of our djvu file at the Internet Archive appears to have been a PDF, so it's not a good choice either. No, that is correct. The primary aim is to replicate the text. The best thing to do in this situation is to upload that Internet Archive book to Commons as a DjVu and then proofread it using side-by-side page scans. That we we have an easily verified source of the transcribed work. The Gutenberg transcription does not seem to mention the edition, or included a title copyright page from the original, or link to a source...so it stands to reason that the editions might have gotten crossed up when linking to an online version at the Internet Archive. It would be enjoyable to work on it together, if you're game. ”

“ Don't worry about missing the deletion request - the double-namespace would have caught someone's eye before long either way. As far as inspecting DjVu files go - in my expierence there is no real easy way. The online book reader at Internet Archive is nearly as clunky as the viewer available on our main File: pages are. I find the only sure way to get at inspecting the nuts and bolts of any DjVu file is to use a 3rd party program called DjVuLibre. ”
