Conférence internationale du service social… (1938)
“ They must be answered by ourselves in order that we may defeat both tired passivity and blind, hateful revolutionism. They must be answered in order that lasting human interests may be protected against anarchic, short-lived, political aims. The task of the social worker is duty and service for the entire organic society. Duty and service dictate to-day that sharp criticism must be directed upward and social conservatism downward. In politics the tendency is just the opposite, and from this the whole world is suffering ! ”
